National Museum of Australia
Scope: Grant-funded project to design and install large-scale murals for the “Riding the Olympic Wave: Breakthrough Sports” exhibition in the main foyer of the National Museum of Australia (NMA). The project included a paid mentorship for Surfcoast, Victoria Indigenous artist Jessi Rebel - supporting emerging artists - adhered to museum standards for low VOC paints to protect artefacts. The project also included media, education workshops, and public engagement activities such as an educational film for the museum archives and five full-day school holiday programs for ages 5-17, all connected to the exhibition.
Timeline: Mural designed and installed to budget and timeline over two weeks of painting, with detailed project summary reports.
Team: Project managed with complex stakeholder groups including the Head Curator of the NMA, the International Olympic Committee in Switzerland, and various exhibition partners. After-hours access was secured with police checks and security clearance.
